We
Some of our initiatives to date:
- Procurement of 100% recycled raw materials for Roller Shutter component manufacture, as remelting aluminium uses 95% less energy and reduces the environmental impacts of bauxite mining.
- Exclusive fabrication of all Elipso Aluminium Louvres using LocAL materials, which are produced using 50% less emissions than the global average.
- PV Solar arrays on both South Australian and Queensland operational facilities, to utilise renewable energy and minimise the draw from the grid.
- Use of ‘ECOCELL’ Bubble Wrap for packaging, made from a carefully formulated blend of virgin linear and Low-density resins, along with up to 20% recycled material, which is 100% recyclable and customers are encouraged to return to Ozroll for re-use.
- Extension of fabrication footprint, allowing product to be produced closer to where it is required, reducing unnecessary freight and therefore reducing emissions.
- Reviewing all product coatings to avoid organic solvents or heavy metal pigments such as lead.

Our products are independently tested and proven to assist with energy efficiency when installed over window openings:
WincovER is a star-rating program that compares the energy performance of window coverings and outdoor shades. Ozroll’s range of Roller Shutters, Plantation Shutters, and Louvre shutters have all been accredited as part of the WincovER program.
WincovER helps homeowners and building professionals make informed decisions when seeking to optimise the energy performance of their homes.
Blinds, awnings, shutters and louvres play a significant role in controlling the amount of heat and light that is transferred in and out of a building. With up to 40% of the energy used in a home for cooling or heating being gained or lost through windows, improving their thermal performance is critical to help reduce energy costs and Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions.
WincovER is a 10 star rating system for both heating and cooling that provides easy to use information about the relative energy performance of shading layer products such as fabrics, louvres and slats.
